Refinishing a Concrete Floor to be Retail Ready

Refinishing a Concrete Floor to be Retail Ready

Rebloom Design House is a small interior design and clothing retail shop in Battle Ground, WA. We moved our business into what is a better retail location and took a few weeks to renovate the space.

The former tenant was a government office. The 990 square feet had a number of different flooring, mint green walls, and an interior window! We needed to convert the space to usable retail, and make it pretty at the same time...in the least amount of time!

Have you ever removed commercial carpet thick with adhesive? We (okay, my husband) ripped out the carpet in strips. I was hoping under the carpet was concrete, no such luck! We used Home Depot's Floor Stripper and other tools to remove the vct tile, linoleum, concrete patch, and staining we uncovered underneath.

The video here presents the sequence of events and many steps to strip and uncover the concrete floors. Check it out and see what was involved to get the concrete floor from office to retail ready!
